Our History

The Bell family has a long and rich history when it comes to cooking together and having family functions.

During the summer of 2003 Gloria Bell decided to toy around with a salsa recipe after trying some salsa brought in by one of her co-workers. Around this same time, her sister Jackie had just gotten out of the hospital after a major surgery and had to spend 6 weeks recovering at her house.

Gloria and Jackie worked together and created a fresh and delicious salsa that was later named Bell’s Town & Country Salsa. After the first batch was made, Gloria took it to work and allowed her co-workers to taste. One co-worker was so impressed that she entered the salsa into the local county fair (held in Rockdale, Texas), and Bell’s Town & Country Salsa received the blue ribbon first prize.

Since then, friends, co-workers, and relatives have made it popular, and many batches have been created and distributed. The Bell family prides itself on using the freshest ingredients, and the fact that every jar of salsa has received personal attention.
